Robert “Bobby” Drake is an adult male who presents as average to above average in his physical fitness. A self-identified mutant, Drake was one of the first students of the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters and founding members of the mutant rights group the X-Men. He remains a member of the X-Men under the name “Iceman” and currently teaches and handles the accounting of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

Of all the original students from the Xavier school, the client has the reputation of having changed the least over time—Henry McCoy (Beast) became furry and blue and has continued to evolve his appearance since, Scott Summers (Cyclops) has been increasingly militant in his approach to mutant rights, Jean Grey lost control of her powers and has died multiple times, including currently, and Warren Worthington (Angel) became Archangel, aligned himself with Apocalypse, died, and returned as a fairly blank slate—and it is both a burden and a gift to him. He appreciates his (relative) lack of personal upheaval but sometimes feels obligated to act goofy and carefree to maintain the appearance, for the sake of others. Unfortunately, he often feels that he is taken less seriously by his peers because of this.

This need to present as he has always been has fueled significant isolation as of late. The client has been experiencing significant reoccurring nightmares that have left him unnerved and negatively impacted his sleeping patterns. He has mentioned, in passing, his difficulties to others but has always been quick to minimize and move on, disclosing his full concerns on the matter.

Additionally, someone has been posing as him and calling his ex-girlfriends without his knowledge. He has no idea why this might be happening, which has left him both confused and more than a little bit scared. Unfortunately, it has also negatively impacted his new relationship with friend and co-worker Katherine “Kitty” Pryde, who was put off by his seeming lack of interest in her when several former romantic interests showed up within moments of each other.

Drake has also had to deal with his past self, from the early days of the X-Men’s founding, having traveled to the present time. In addition to the usual embarrassment of “can you believe I used to sound/dress/think like that” he’s also seen what he—and the X-Men in general—has gained and given up in the time since and found himself disappointed about several of those losses.

We are continuing to develop our therapeutic alliance in session. “Homework” so far has revolved around encouraging the client to be his “full” self, to not restrict himself to only positive emotional expressions, and to trust his friends, co-workers, and teammates to still care about him even when he is not always “on.” Additionally, we have been working on developing certain skills to increase his effectiveness in social situations, particularly romantic ones. Finally, as of late, we have spent significant time on his nightmares, both trying to discern what waking hour issues might be fueling them as well as how he might manage them through lucid dreaming.

Fast & Furious 6: The Game debuted 

Fast & Furious 6: The Game is Kabam’s first free-to-play racing title, and joins the company’s existing mobile megahits that include Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North, a top 10 franchise that has grossed $200 million in less than four years, and The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth, which is a top ten grossing game on iOS worldwide and within the top 15 grossing games on Google Play worldwide, according to the App Annie Index. Fast & Furious 6: The Game is also Kabam’s first title to be translated into Japanese, Korean and Chinese.

“We’re exceptionally proud of what the Kabam team in Vancouver has accomplished with this game,” said Andrew Sheppard, president of Kabam Studios. “It is truly one of the highest quality games on a tablet or smartphone.”

“Kabam’s first foray into the racing genre is nothing short of sensational,” Sheppard continued. “From the console-quality graphics to the unique take on street racing, this game exhilarates the player and leaves the competition stalled in its tracks.”

The game transports players to the high-octane world of Fast & Furious 6 in a storyline that runs parallel to the film’s plot. Players will race alongside well-known characters from the new film, drag racing and drifting their way through a series of intense street races and breathtaking heists. Additionally, players will be able to customize their cars with decals and original paintjobs, as well as acquire different vehicles from such manufacturers as BMW, Honda, Dodge and Ford.

Michael Lynton, Chairman & CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Amy Pascal, Co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Entertainment jointly announced their partnership today. John Cohen and David Maisel – producer of Despicable Me and executive producer of Iron Man, respectively – are both on board for the new Angry Birds feature film. Cohen will serve as producer and Maisel is executive producer.

Commenting on the announcement, Mikael Hed said, “Sony impressed us with their great attitude, determination, and professionalism. They convinced us that we have found the right partners and team to help us market and distribute our first motion picture. Michael, Amy, Jeff Blake, Sony’s marketing and distribution head, and their teams will be the best possible collaborators as we get set to take our franchise to the next level.”

Lynton and Pascal said, “Every studio in town would love to add Angry Birds to their slate. There are few titles out there that bring this kind of excitement, brand awareness and built-in audience to the table. We’re thrilled to be distributing this film and we hope this is just the beginning of what will be a long relationship with Rovio as we look for ways to work on future projects together.”

David Maisel and John Cohen said, “We are very excited to join with Sony Pictures in presenting this movie to the world in 2016 and we will have many more announcements as we begin production in the coming months.”

Angry Birds is one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, starting in 2009 with the original mobile game that remains the number one paid app of all time. Angry Birds has expanded rapidly into entertainment, publishing, and licensing to become a beloved international brand.

Angry Birds has been praised for its great value and simple, casual gameplay. Players use a slingshot to launch birds at green pigs in an attempt to get their eggs back, with the game setting the model for what is possible in terms of game development and commercial success. To date, the Angry Birds and Bad Piggies games have been downloaded more than 1.7 billion times across platforms and versions.

The upcoming movie marks Rovio Entertainment’s first foray into feature films, although fans have already been introduced to the Angry Birds world with the weekly Angry Birds Toons animated series. Rovio launched the series in March through its Angry Birds apps as well as on select video-on-demand channel providers, Smart TVs, connected devices, and on select TV networks around the world. Paving the way for a full-length feature film, Angry Birds Toons has been a massive success for Rovio clocking in over 150 million views from the Angry Birds apps alone within the first six weeks.

“We’ve long admired the fun and unique characters and products that Pretty Ugly designs, and we are excited to partner with them so they can put their quirky twist on our iconic Super Heroes,” says Karen McTier, executive vice president, domestic licensing and worldwide marketing, WBCP.

Gund will produce a range of colorful, collectible superheroes this fall that will initially include two versions of Ice-Bat as Batman and Babo as Superman. Funko is also set to offer a collection of vinyl figures based on the collaboration during the holiday season. Additional categories of merchandise and collaborative characters will be announced in the coming months.
